8:30am to 9:30am – Strategies to Reduce Vulnerability to ADHD in the Neonatal and Early Childhood Period – Rajka Milanovic Galbraith, MD, IFMCP, ABIHM, ABFM

Many factors have been shown in the literature to cause/be associated with ADHD; nutrient deficiencies, toxicant exposures, foods, and sleep. A closer look will be given to these factors within the neonatal and early childhood period to reduce the vulnerability to ADHD. Action steps to take will be given to empower a family with tools to minimize the occurrence of ADHD.

9:45am to 10:45am – 3 Ways to Treat ADHD Naturally Aside from Diet – Sheri Davis

When it comes to treating ADHD naturally, diet is key, but what else can be helpful? Sheri Davis shares three additional steps that helped her kids recover from ADHD and autism: treating for yeast/Candida, supplements, and reducing EMF (electromagnetic frequency) exposure. Learn the signs and symptoms of yeast overgrowth and how to best treat it. Discover the top 10 best supplements for ADHD, and learn practical and simple ways to reduce EMF’s in your home.

11:00am to 12:00pm – The Genetics of Attention Deficit – Dr. Kendra Becker-Musante BSN, MS ND, APRN

Although attention-deficit disorders are largely environmental, there is a huge genetic piece that can help guide effective treatment. By evaluating and understanding the genes, SNPs (single nucleotide polymorphisms) and typical genetic variability among our population, providers can guide treatment effectively for long term success. This lecture will highlight specific genes and their actions, and optimal treatment modalities to provide the greatest success in treatment.

12:00pm to 1:30pm – Lunch Break

Take a walk around the room visiting our sponsors, get signed copies of some of our speakers’ books, and mingle with other like-minded parents. Feel free to visit the many AutismOne sponsors as well throughout the hotel. Grab lunch at one of the hotel’s restaurants or one of the many local restaurants surrounding the Westin Hotel. Meet us back at 1:30pm for the second half of the Treating ADHD Naturally Conference.

1:30pm to 2:30pm – Is Lack of Attention ADHD, or Something Else? Let’s Look at the Brain – James A. Kowal, PhD

If you want to effectively change behavior, you have to look at the brain. In examining the brain with a quantitative electroencephalogram (qEEG), one can differentiate ADHD from several other neurological conditions. All of these conditions require different treatments. Dr. Kowal will show how applying advanced technology using qEEG’s can differentiate various neurological conditions and properly treat each of those conditions, often without psychiatric medications.

2:45pm to 3:45pm – Functional Medicine and Neurological Approaches for ADHD – Joshua Flowers, DC, DACNB

ADHD is a prevalent developmental delay that often persists into adulthood. We will be discussing the structural connectivity of a child’s brain with ADHD by examining the effects of functional disconnectivity, gut integrity, oxidative stress, and immune dysregulation. There will be some pathophysiological review as well as current hypothesis and theories regarding etiology and environmental stressors. We will also be reviewing research-based approaches which effectively reduce symptoms of ADHD while also addressing the foundation of the issue utilizing brain-based stimulation, dietary alterations, and targeted supplementation.

4:00pm to 5:00pm – The Feingold Diet for ADHD & Autism: You Have The Label… Now What? – Jane Hersey

This presentation will cover the following points: Why is my child having so many problems?
There are many ways to help, but since we have to eat anyway, a change in food is the second easiest choice. What is the Feingold Diet and what symptoms are likely to respond? Be nice to yourself as you begin the program; it’s okay to test the waters with baby steps. Combining the Feingold Diet with other diets and therapies. You have an army of experts to help you, but the most essential expert is you!
